Differences between teaching strategy, teaching method and teaching skill.

Teaching strategy is the action to be taken by the students to reach the objectives. For example, reading the information to the students, allowing them to research the information themselves and presenting information in power point.

Teaching method is the way the teacher approaches the students. For example, doing classroom experiments are activities where any number of students work in groups and can have cooperative learning.

Teaching skill is the ability or knowledge to explain something to someone. For example, being a teacher we should have good classroom management skills. If we lack in that skill, we can't enhance proper learning.

What are some of the characteristics of an effective teacher?

  • Set rules, consequences and rewards immediately.

  • Determine the learning style of our student.

  • An effective teacher should have a good classroom management skills.

  • Establish a loving/caring/warm atmosphere in the classroom.

  • Take a personal interest in each student.

  • Conduct thorough instructional planning/organizing.
